Who We Are

We are a community-based, non-profit, grassroots human service agency that provides comprehensive services to refugees, asylees, and immigrants as well as the larger community.​


RIAC’s mission is to promote cultural, educational, and socioeconomic development in the refugee and immigrant community.


The vision of the Refugee & Immigrant Assistance Center (RIAC) is to promote greater acceptance by the communities it services, while enhancing the the quality of life for refugees, asylees, and immigrants, through improved support, services, and technology.

What We Do

Programs & Services

Bringing Hope Home

RIAC welcomes around 200 refugees annually from diverse nations like Bhutan, Iraq, Congo, Syria, Afghanistan, Burma, Somalia, Ethiopia, and beyond. Join us in building new lives.

Continued Support Beyond Arrival

Our services link individuals and families to resources, benefits, and counseling for smooth social adjustment. Together, we foster resilience and progress.

Healing Hearts, Restoring Lives

Led by our psychiatrist, a team of licensed social workers offers personalized and group counseling. Let us help you find strength in community.

When refugees arrive in Boston we like to provide them with a welcome basket of basic household goods necessary for day to day life. Click here for a basic outline of what to include!
